Hans completed an apprenticeship in the last 7 years. Now, his training is over. Hans's boss is very pleased with him and rewards Hans with a large lump of gold. Hans thanks him and sets off for home to see his mother, who is already waiting for him. Hans begins his journey. The gold lump is very heavy, and soon, he back aches from carrying it, when he meets a rider on the road. Hans says, "What I would'nt give to have a horse right now so I could get home faster and wouldn't have to struggle with this heavy lump." The rider stops and says, "If you'd like, we can trade: You can have my horse, and I'll take your gold lump." Hans says, "Yes, gladly!"
